question:

Outside of yourself, does outside exist?

there is an idea in philosophy, crossing over into psychology, about a "tolerance for ambiguity" as the mark of sanity ... accepting the fact that we cannot know for sure. that imaginary line. dealing with the reality of a dream, and the unreality of life, and trying to get through the day with this partial knowledge. it is torture, until you let the idea of it become warm water. then it feels ... pleasant. to feel yourself suspended. to not know. to accept dreams as we accept life. to let the world be soft and hard at the same time. apparently, psychosis, small & large, results from no longer tolerating this ambiguity--not knowing what is real, and more importantly, knowing that you do not know.

that is not what you were talking about, I know, but I do love this concept and thought you would understand intuitively what it is all about.

this comment box is asking me to "choose an identity." what the hell. are they mocking me? anyway chris ... you are a good man. see you out there.
